From: Nevada/Utah border near Baker, NV
Had a pretty good day yesterday, went 145 miles. Which gives us a total of 569 miles so far.
We both had pretty good mornings. We had a 70 to 80 mile stretch with nothing between it from Eureka and Elee.
Then we had a 60-something mile stretch between Elee and here without anything.
Well, there was a bar by the side of the road that we were able to stop at and get a Coke.
Had six big mountain passes to go through. I'm not sure if everyone knows or not, but Nevada has a lot of mountain ranges!
We would climb one and descend one, go across the basin and then climb another one. A lot of six mile long climbs.
But we're still holding up pretty well. Danny's got a little bit of a sore leg, but that pre-dated everything. I've got a little bit of a sore knee and some sore Achilles tendons, but everything is holding together pretty well.
We will be heading out across the desert, out here in Utah, today. We will probably shoot for Eureka, UT, so we'll be moving into Utah and moving to the Mountain Time Zone and into a different state.
I hope to have another update soon.
Hi Spencen & Dan:
Following your progress on the satillite map has been amazing! Looks like a lot of long desolate stretches.
Can't wait to hear your stories when you get back.
Have a great ride.
