Flooding from the Platte River at the intersection of state routes FF and H didn’t stop people from getting through as they cut around the intersection Tuesday afternoon.

Rainfall may have ceased for the moment, but flood concerns continue as the region’s swollen streams rise.

Meanwhile, the Missouri Department of Transportation reported the closing of a number of county routes because of high water. Roads were no longer closed in Northeast Kansas.

The National Weather Service office in Pleasant Hill on Tuesday extended flood warnings for the 102 River at Rosendale; Grand River near Pattonsburg, Gallatin and Chillicothe; and Platte River near Agency, Platte City and at Sharp’s Station in Platte County.

The weather service said the warning for the 102 River will remain in effect until Thursday morning or pending cancellation. The stage was measured at 21.8 feet at Rosendale as of 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, with moderate flooding forecast. The river has an 18-foot flood stage.

The warning for the Platte River near Agency will continue until Thursday afternoon. The stage measured 28.1 feet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with moderate flooding expected. The river is anticipated to fall below its 20-foot flood stage today.

MoDOT officials listed the following road closings as of midday Tuesday:

Andrew County — Missouri Route C at the south city limits of Rosendale, Route C at Missouri Highway 48, Missouri Route B one mile west of Bolckow, and Highway 48 east and west of Rosendale

Buchanan County — Route H at Route FF, Route C at U.S. Highway 36 and Route Z, Route FF at Route H in Agency, and Route MM two miles south of Route DD

Caldwell County — Route A at Shoal Creek

Daviess County — Route M. five miles east of Missouri Highway 13 due to flooding from Lick Fork Creek, Route AA north of the Route Z junction, and Route Z west of Route AA

Gentry County — Route H at Carmack due to flooding from the West Fork of the Grand River and south of Route V at the Hickory Creek bridge due to the Grand River; and Route A a half-mile south of Route T

Worth County — Route M, two miles east of Route C, due to flooding from Big Creek

Livingston County — Route C, four miles south of Highway 36 and Route CC, three miles south of Highway 36.

The weather service forecasts more showers and thunderstorms for today through Friday.
