Trenton woman dies after wreck
by St. Joseph News-Press
Saturday, August 22, 2009

A Trenton woman died as a result of a two-vehicle accident Friday in Farmersville, Mo., in Livingston County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Adrienne Ford, 20, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt south on U.S. Highway 65 about 7:35 a.m. when Omar Miller, 54, of Leon, Iowa, traveling in the same direction in a 1999 Ford pickup, attempted to pass her at the County Road 243 intersection.

The pickup struck the Cobalt on the driver’s side, causing both vehicles to slide off the road and into an embankment. Ms. Ford was not wearing a safety belt. She was flown by Life-Flight helicopter to Truman Medical Center, where she died Friday afternoon. Mr. Miller was not injured.

Ms. Ford played collegiate basketball for North Central Missouri College in Trenton in 2008. North Central women’s basketball coach Jennifer Croy said her death is a horrible loss.

This was the fifth fatal accident in August and the 21st of the year for the patrol’s Troop H, which covers Northwest Missouri.
