PATTONSBURG, Mo. — A routine traffic stop Thursday on Interstate 35 revealed a rolling meth lab operated by a man from Arkansas.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper stopped a 1995 Nissan Altima driven by Joshua Collier, 23, who had outstanding warrants, said Sgt. Sheldon Lyon, a spokesman for Troop H. Mr. Collier agreed to allow the officer to search the vehicle and a methamphetamine lab was discovered, Mr. Lyon said.
The Highway Patrol arrested Mr. Collier, who lives in Cabot, Ark., on three felony citations; alleged creation of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, possession of ephedrine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Three additional misdemeanor charges were alleged; driving while revoked, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. No state charges had been filed Friday in the Daviess County Associate Circuit Court and that court hadn’t set a bond for the alleged felony violations.
The trooper’s check of arrest records revealed five misdemeanor warrants in Newton County charging Mr. Collier with two additional counts of driving while revoked, a driving while intoxicated charge, careless and impudent driving and possession of a controlled substance, marijuana. Bond for those charges in the amount of $6,147 had previously been set in a Newton County Associate Circuit Court.
