GOWER, Mo. — A 15-year-old boy from Stewartsville, Mo. died Friday following a motorcycle accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Tyler D. Wilson died shortly after noon at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
The accident occurred at 8 a.m. Friday on Missouri Route DD about three miles southwest of Gower.
The teen was driving a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle west on Route DD and met a 1994 GMC Sierra pickup driven by Bobby Holt, 54, nearly head-on in one of the many curves on the state road. Tyler Wilson was wearing a safety helmet when he was ejected from the motorcycle, which was reported to be totaled. An ambulance transported the teen to Heartland. Mr. Holt from Agency, Mo. wasn’t reported to be injured. This is the second fatality of the month for Troop H and the 15th in the troop’s Northwest Missouri region.
A sad and tragic end to a young life. Motorcycle riding is inherently dangerous weather you wear a helmet or not. My condolences to the family.
This is such a sad day for the family, my heart goes out to them. Question is why is a 15 year old riding a motorcycle?
Probably had a permit that allowed him to ride. I think 16 is too young to drive.
I didnt know how that worked what age you got a permit.
This is a tragedy but Tyler's parents took every measure to make sure that he had all the training he needed and knew the rules and was legal to be riding his motorcycle.Unfortunatly accidents happen. Hopefully other people's lives will be saved.Pray for the family and don't judge them for following the law.

chunkyluver July 4, 2009 at 1:22 a.m. (Suggest removal)well i do like to make a statement as an ems worker ido have to admitt everyone should have a choice on the choices they make in there personal lives to do..... i have seen helmets save lives from bicyces to motorcycles they do work ..........people think it will never happen to me,one one thing people need to think of is when an accident that could of been not made serious made serious, they need to think of the person that left caring for them or grieving for the person.. Helments save lives i also like to state this should be for the mopeds ive seen everyday here in Saint Joseph i already have witnessed 1 moped accident where if the party was wearing a helmet then there wouldnt be a cross and a memorial along side the road!!!
