Plane crashes near Tarkio
A plane crashed in Atchison County, Mo., at about 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
B.J. Scott, a spokesman for the Wingnuts, which is putting on an air show in Tarkio on Saturday, said the plane had only one occupant and was performing aerobatics at the time of the crash. He could provide no information on the pilot or the type of plane involved, other than it was a single-engine plane. However, observers noted that a flag at the Gould Peterson Municipal Airport in Tarkio was flying at half-staff.
Mr. Scott said the Saturday fly-in would go on as scheduled.
