Drivers should use caution when driving near streams, creeks, rivers and other bodies of water. On Tuesday, the state closed one Missouri highway and five state routes due to heavy rains and rising creeks and rivers. Another state road was closed on Monday, and Andrew County has a number of county roads that sustained flood damage and are closed.

Missouri Highway 111, which connects Forest City and U.S. Highway 159 in Holt County about five miles west of Oregon, Mo., was closed Tuesday morning.

The state closed Missouri Route H, east of Agency, Mo., because of Platte River flooding.

Rising waters from the flooding Platte River closed Missouri Route C between U.S. Highway 36 and the Easton Saxton Road.

The Third Fork of the Platte River began flooding Tuesday, making it necessary for state officials to close Missouri Route P, between Buchanan County Road 135 and Thornton Road in DeKalb County.

Missouri Route V, southwest of Helena, Mo., was closed because of flooding between Missouri Route UU in Andrew County and Missouri Route F in DeKalb County.

Rising waters on a branch of the Nodaway River, Lincoln Creek and Arapahoe Creek in Andrew County closed four county roads. Bridge decks floated downstream in several cases. Another county road was closed because of heavy rains that washed out a tube. Drivers on Andrew County roads are urged to use caution during this rainy season.

Flooding on Grindstone Creek forced the closing of Missouri Route E in Daviess County.

Water spilled out of Lost Creek onto Missouri Route W, between Missouri Route A and Missouri Route D in DeKalb County Monday morning, forcing officials to close the road.
