Breastfeeding support group

A mothers’ breastfeeding support group, the BFFs (Breast Feeding Friends), will meet from 10:30 to noon Nov. 12 at the Keatley Center. In December, BFF meetings will resume the regular schedule of the first and third Thursdays of each month. The meetings are interactive and offer guidance and support from moms who breastfeed and professional consultants. All breastfeeding and expectant mothers are welcome to attend.

In addition, breastfeeding materials, a lending library and a breast pump rental program are available. Moms are encouraged to bring their babies, and though childcare is not provided, older siblings are welcome and can play in the nurturing environment of Parents as Teachers. Door prizes will be awarded and refreshments served. To RSVP or for more information, please call 271-4880.

MERIL fall social

The MERIL fall social will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 12 at Wyatt Park Christian Church, 2623 Mitchell Ave. The event is free and open to all people with disabilities, as well as their family members and personal attendants.

RSVP to Cynthia at 279-8558 or toll-free at (800) 242-9326. Transportation will not be provided. Public transportation is available if you reside in St. Joseph.
