The city of St. Joseph Health Department will be conducting an H1N1 Vaccination Clinic for high-risk persons on Nov. 14. The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, or until the vaccine runs out, at the Firefighter’s Local 77 Bingo Hall, located at 4314 S. 40th St.
The department urges the public to use the Pettis Road entrance off the Belt Highway to enter the facility.
Signs will be posted to direct traffic flow.
Since vaccine supplies continue to remain limited, this clinic will target those at high risk and most vulnerable for health complications or death from H1N1 influenza, also known as swine flu.
Persons who are eligible to receive vaccine at this clinic are as follows:
—Pregnant woman;
—People who live with or care for infants under the age of 6 months;
—Children 6 months old through 4 years of age;
—Children age 5 years old through 18 years of age with medical conditions that put them at risk for influenza-related complications;
—Health care workers and emergency medical service workers who care for, treat, or have contact with individuals with flu-like symptoms.
Persons who do not meet the criteria for this clinic are asked to remain patient until more vaccine becomes available.
