A woman was the victim of a sex crime at a local motel on Oct. 31, police said Wednesday.

About 10:15 a.m., a woman in her 30s reported being raped at the Days Inn, 4312 Frederick Blvd., by a male in his 50s, Capt. Janice Rothganger of the St. Joseph Police Department said. The suspect was known to the woman and was not at the scene when police arrived.

The woman was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center by a patrol officer.

No arrests have been made, and the case is under investigation by the Police Department’s Family Crimes Unit.
