Click It or Ticket next week

Missouri law enforcement agencies are teaming up on Nov. 18 in the "Click It or Ticket" mobilization to support Missouri's safety-belt law.

Nearly one in four Missourians still fail to regularly wear their safety belts when driving or riding in a motor vehicle.

Failure to wear a safety belt can be fatal. A 2007 report said a driver in a Missouri traffic crash has a 1 in 32 chance of being killed if not wearing a seat belt. In cases where the driver wore a seat belt, the chance of being killed was 1 in 1,294.

Nodaway County law enforcement officers are joining the effort.

Nodaway County Sheriff Darren White said that regular safety belt use is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes.

Officers and troopers will issue tickets to anyone stopped and found not wearing a seat belt.

Hey comment (what kind of user ID is that anyway)

If you think it's such a joke, why don't you take a week of
vacation and drive around nodaway county and at the end of the week report back and let everyone know how many tickets you got for not wearing your seat belt or perhaps maybe you will become 1 of the statistics.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
