MDC says the low numbers here in the NW may have been due to the weather. If you want to harvest a deer, you need to prepare yourself and adapt to the weather. The only thing that will keep me from hunting is the sound of thunder. Deer hunting in the weather conditions we have had is all part of the experience. The deer were moving. My brother-in-law and I hunted Monkey Mountain and had a total of 20 deer sightings in the first two days of the season. I harvested a nice size doe in the second day.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Good for deer, Bad for automobiles. In the last three weeks there's been three deer roadkills just off exit 11 on Interstate 229. The hunting season definitely needs to be extended.

One word - CORN. There is a bunch of it still in. Deer don't have to leave it. I've seen a few deer and passed up some with both bow and rifle. But I've not seen near what I normally see.
