Mops have been around a long time — since 1893, according to madehow.com. That’s when Thomas W. Stewart received the first patent for a mop. So you would think we would be pretty much be at the end of the line for anything new as far as the design goes.
But O’Cedar just came out with something innovative with its new Microfiber Flip Mop. It’s a dry and damp all-surface mop with a double-sided microfiber pad. The wide design makes it easy to clean a large surface at once, something like how those wide janitor brooms can tackle a school hall floor in a few strokes. However, this is much lighter and easier than that for negotiating around corners and under counters or along baseboards. The “microfiber” also hangs on to pet hair and dust that easily escapes a broom. And when you use it on wet surfaces, it’s similar to cleaning the floor by hand, compared to sponge mops.
What I liked most about it, though, is you can use both sides of the pad and then throw it in the washing machine when you’re done. It’s easy to remove, too: Just undo the Velcro strips.
The bottom line: If you still haven’t found a mop you like, try the O’Cedar Microfiber Flip Mop. I think you’ll like it. It’s available at select food, drug and mass merchandise stores nationwide. The suggested retail price is $14.99.

I absolutely love this O'Cedar microfiber flip mop. I just wish they weren't so hard to find. It is wonderful on hardwood floors and since I use it every day, the pad gets washed often. I bought mine in the Mesa AZ area at an Ace Hardware and I'll be darned if I can find that Ace store to get another one! I've been to several in the area and can't find it. Fortunately, I did buy a 2nd pad.
