Revival at Faith United Baptist
Faith United Baptist Church, 8400 S.W. V Highway, will be having a revival starting with its 10:30 a.m. service Nov. 1. A carry-in luncheon will follow. The revival will continue at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 through 4, with desserts following. The speaker will be evangelist Don Walton, and the worship leader will be David Bromley. Everyone is invited. News from Zion
Zion United Church of Christ, Ninth and Faraon streets, will begin November with a 10:30 a.m. worship service Nov. 1 that will include the sacrament of Holy Communion.
From 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 7, members and friends of the congregation will join in InterServ's observance of its 100th anniversary.
A rummage sale in the church's gym is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Nov. 13 and 14.
A Thanksgiving dinner is planned by Agape for after the Nov. 22 worship service. A free-will offering will be taken. Also, the 151st anniversary of the founding of the church will be celebrated that day. Operation Shoe Box gifts will be dedicated, as well.
The last Sunday of the month, Nov. 29, marks the beginning of the 2009 Advent season. "Hanging of the Greens" will follow worship. A sandwich luncheon is planned. "Hat and Mitten Tree" gifts will be delivered that week.

Women's Day at Greater Jesus Tabernacle
Greater Jesus Tabernacle, 28th Street and Mitchell Avenue, will observe its Women's Day at 11 a.m. Nov. 1. The women will head all aspects of the service.
Angela Alford will speak on the topic "God uses ordinary people." Roberta Foster will speak on the topic "You are a Designer's original." There will be several women presenting brief topics on various women of the Bible.
A complimentary dinner will follow the service. The public is invited.
Events at Central Christian
Central Christian Church, 1501 N. Leonard Road, will host The Crossing at 5:35 p.m. Nov. 1. The Crossing offers a worship service and relevant message for real-life encounters. It takes place the first and third Sundays of each month.
In addition, Central Christian will hold a harvest party from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today. The event will feature food, candy, hayrides, games and prizes for children.
Special service at Fresh Fire Church
Pastors Curtis and Ruthann Dunning invite you to join them for a special miracle and empowerment service at 6 p.m. Nov. 1 at Fresh Fire Church. World Revival Network Director J.D. King will be ministering. Fresh Fire Church is located at 1109 S. Belt Highway in the upper level.

Elwood First Baptist celebrates 107th
First Baptist Church of Elwood, Kan., will be celebrating its 107th anniversary, at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 1. Special guests will be the Rev. James Lambert and Independent Baptist Church of Leavenworth, Kan.
'Welcome Back'

McCarthy Baptist hosts youth revival
McCarthy Baptist Church, 2710 S. Belt Highway, is hosting a youth revival for sixth- through twelfth-graders from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 5 through 7; doors open at 6:30 p.m. Dana Jorgensen will lead worship, and a challenge from God's Word will be issued by Ryan Beck. McCarthy also will offer an opportunity to shop early for Christmas, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 7. Lunch will be served for $3. Offered for sale will be old and new treasures, and the Christmas Shop will be open. This bazaar will be hosted by Women in Missions.
'Piecing Earth Together'
Church Women United will present an in-depth study of global issues related to the theme "Piecing Earth Together" Nov. 6 at Hyde Valley United Methodist Church. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the program will begin at 10 a.m. The focus will be on the environment. Loes Hedge will recite "The Creation" by James Weldon Johnson. Women will do painting according to Genesis 1 and 2.
Church Women United is an ecumenical movement that brings together Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian women in the United States and Puerto Rico to work for a just, caring and peaceful society.
Emergency preparedness at LDS church
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, No. 7 N. Carriage Dr., will host an emergency preparedness workshop at 10 a.m. Nov. 7 that will teach what to put in a 72-hour kit. Monthly meetings will follow.

Dinner, bazaar at Savannah UMC
Savannah United Methodist Church, 103 N. Fourth St. in Savannah, Mo., will host its annual dinner and bazaar from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 7.
Food served will be ham balls, turkey and all the trimmings. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. The bazaar will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature quilts, Amish woven rugs, baked goods, children's items, homemade crafts, aprons and Christmas gifts. All proceeds from the event will be used for mission projects.
Turkey dinner at Woodson Chapel
Woodson Chapel Christian Church, 2525 St. Joseph Ave., will host a turkey dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7. Tickets are $7.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 5 through 10 and free for children 4 and under. Carry-outs are available.

Turkey dinner at Wesley UMC
Wesley United Methodist Church, Ajax and Pear streets, will be holding its annual turkey dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the church. The cost will be $7 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 7 through 12 and free for children 6 and under. Fall Festival at St. Mary Church
St. Mary Church, 1606 N. Second St., will host a fall festival from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 7. Chili, soup, hot dogs, drinks and desserts will be served. The cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. There will also be games, horse races, 50/50, raffles, a homemade quilt, cash prizes, an Altar Society craft booth, a silent auction and a live auction at 6:30 p.m.
Harvest supper at Clarksdale UMC
Clarksdale United Methodist Church in Clarksdale, Mo., will host a harvest supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 7. Fried chicken and all the fixings will be served, and the cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children.
Fall fun at Mt. Zion Baptist
This year's free North Platte Community Fall Festival will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 7 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Community Life Center, 5057 Highway Z in Edgerton, Mo. This year's Northern Platte County Citizen of the Year Award will go to Marge Stubbs, who recently retired from the North Platte School District after 22 years of service as the Intermediate School secretary. All of North Platte's secretaries will be recognized. The evening includes inflatable rides, carnival games and prizes, competition for adults, giveaways, and a grand prize of a NASCAR racing experience ride and a night at Great Wolf Lodge, including the water park. Area churches donate to InterServ
Local and area churches recently donated kits collected from their "Festival of Sharing" to InterServ. Items donated included a food box, personal hygiene kits, school kits, student dental kits, paper products kits and blankets. These items will be distributed to individuals and families through InterServ's Calvin Center Food Pantry.
