The Harlem Ambassadors will visit Falls City, Neb., Sept. 23 to play in a fundraising basketball game.

The game is set for 7 p.m. at Prichard Auditorium, at 17th and Barada streets. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The Harlem Ambassadors offer a unique brand of basketball that features slam dunks and comedy routines. The team delivers a positive message for children along with the antics.

The Ambassadors work with local not-for-profit and service organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity. The team will partner with Armbruster Motor Co., the Come on Home Group for former residents returning to Falls City, and Hullman's Ford to raise funds for the chamber of commerce.

A limited number of advanced tickets will be $8 for adults and $6 for students and are available at the chamber office, 1705 Stone St. At-the-door tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students. Call (402) 245-4228 for more information.

Park session set

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting Sept. 19 at Wallace State Park near Cameron.

The meeting will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at the open shelter house. The public is invited.

Discussions will center on the park's general operations, including the campground reservation system and group reservations. Park staff will provide information about recent accomplishments, including the installation of directional and other assistance signs for visitors.

The park is located six miles south of Cameron by following U.S. Highway 69 south, which is exit 48 off Interstate 35, to Missouri Highway 121.

Veterans'

meetings on tap

The Missouri Veterans Commission and its veterans service group partners will hold several town hall/listening post meetings in Northwest Missouri later this month.

The first session will be held Sept. 23 at the James Edward Gray American Legion Post 100, 1104 E. Fifth St., Maryville. The second listening post will be held Sept. 24 at the Elks Lodge, 401 Harvester Road, Chillicothe. A third town hall is planned for the Mayes Memorial Armory, 301 N. Woodbine Road in St. Joseph. All three events will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
