You mention how hard it would be to do your grocery shopping in the United Sates if you didn't speak or read English. Several months ago my Wife and I were in the grocery store when a man with WIC vouchers in his hand ask (In broken English) my Wife if she could help him. It seemed obvious that he was not used to doing his family's grocery shopping so she helped him find what he was looking for. He came to us for help a second time so my Wife told me she would go help him finish his shopping and I should do ours she would catch up with me later. I was OK with that, I've seen folks that do understand English have problems with WIC vouchers. I've seen him in the store since, he always has a smile and a hi, how are you for me. I feel he is trying to learn our language, to bad more immigrants (Or Aliens) won't follow his lead.
Don't forget, back in the time of "the private ambulance heyday" (private competition) we also had more than one hospital. That is all history now. Progress, improvement,(?) I don't think so. Just change.
I thought our Woodstock attendee's might be interested in hearing about a new shop that recently opened in Aspen, Colorado. Two Old Hippies, http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/artic...
Our old clothing styles could be making a comeback.
All of our Letter Carriers don't get out at every house. I live on E. Missouri Ave. I haven't seen that happen here. In case you don't know were E. Missouri Ave. is, go to the former King Hill Ave. Dairy Queen turn to the east and walk up the hill until it dead ends. Our carrier does it five days a week.Kansas and Colorado Ave.'s are just as steep and I believe they are a part of the same route. I'd like to commend our carrier for a job well done.
I have heard that congressman Blunt offered an amendment to the health care bill our elected officials are trying to ram down our thoughts. The amendment would scrap our elected officials current health care plan and replace it with Obamacare. No big surprise, the amendment went down in flames. What is good enough for us is not good enough for them.
You know, I was really impressed with this new business/article until I got to the sentence that said, "The jemos footwear are made with a mind for the environment. They are handsewn in China from leftover furniture leather." I feel that it is great that they are concerned about the environment, all of us should be. I wish I could wish the owners of this new foot ware company well but I can't. We have millions of unemployed United States citizens and your having your foot ware made in China (?). Do you feel there are no local folks capable of making your foot ware? Or is it that you just don't want the common (local) folks to make a livable wage? I have Great Grand Children that could use new foot ware, I wouldn't get them anything made by your company. You could have put United States citizens to work but chose not to. Fair Trade? Should you're business ever fail, just remember we now have a number of soup lines you can stand in. You might find some folks you've seen before while your there. They once came to you looking for work.
