One of city’s cinematic gems awaits an uncertain fate

This could be revamped and be a viable venue for movies and Mainstream/Local music acts. Maybe consolidate the space and put in a Craft Brewery. Of course this takes money and vision. Two things St Joe lacks. Maybe in 20 years. When the roof is fallen in or burned down people will miss this jem. Fast forward ten years and we have another lot or Regal Theater....

Warning to St Joseph.
Its not the things that make a place, its the people mostly. But when a limited amount of people care about the Cities Environment people don't want to stay here. I guess the warning comes from the fact that most of St Joseph's Talented Youth dream of leaving this town as soon as they are able. This is true because I have seen so many go. If we just have some pride in our heritage, this includes our downtown, maybe St Joseph's future can be more than troubled uneducated youth, architectural cavities, crime, and lost jobs. Maybe we can build this Troubled Town up from the inside out......Am I dreaming?

Accusations fly as Mardi Gras Parade canceled

The Bar owners should have taken the initiative here. I'm sure all bars will feel the hit on their attendance on that particular night. I guess they are confident they will reap the profits of that night without the parade. This will cost the bars many more thousands than it would have took to put it on. It is a shame.

Man was a 'surgeon in every area of his life'

These are the kind of people that are true human roll models. Henry was a person who was responsible for one of lifes most important rolls. He will be missed. If I accomplish as much in my life I will have done something worth while.....

Holiday Inn's new restaurant hopes to be more practical

People associate Holiday Inn with cheap. Houlihan's was one of St Joe's best restaurants. It might be they were in just the wrong local. Their fish tacos were very tasty. They will be missed.

Griffons gear back up for Mineral Water Bowl

Who cares! Nobody cares about loser bowls! Bearcats are on the pounce for the National Title. This story is not important? Mo west had its chance to take on the Bearcats at a sold out home stadium. They got pummeled! GO Bearcats! We here in St Joe realize the importance of a exceptional football team. Shame Shame for News Press not giving you your props!

Concerned citizen prevents robbery

Im glad they got the scum off our streets. This could have went horribly wrong though. If this creep had upgraded to a gun this could have been very bad. Is a purse worth dying for? People don't realize how dangerous some of these meth heads can be. They don't think like normal people. As a matter of fact they don't think. These creatures are not human. They are St Joe's walking dead. I don't know if this guy was a meth head but it's very likely.

Award offered on weapons theft

Well libertyordeath. I agree with you on the scum being shunned. But I think most family members who give up ken would like to keep it private. What happens if the cops fail to prosecute? This could stir up a hornets nest and may cause more problems for the snitch. This would prevent future snitches from snitchin. Lets keep snitching private!
